Marketing is a process used to persuade customers to spend their money on a product. Marketing is the combination of all the things a business does to show consumers (the market) his or her product and convince them it is worth buying. In the case of hotels, the task is even more delicate as it is necessary to convince the market (the customers) to come to the product (the hotel).
The STEP project has developed a comprehensive set of brands and associated standards for small hotels who participate in Caribbean experiences. These brands have been developed with input from the international travel trade in Europe and North America, tourism industry stakeholders in the Caribbean region, and small hoteliers.
